How do you find products by minor features?

My screen has started flickering and I'll probably need a new one in the next few days, but I can't figure out whether or not it's possible to turn off the power/status LED on any of the replacement monitors I'm looking at -- a surprise feature that I've really enjoyed on my current monitor (LG Flatron L204WT).

This post was initially just going to be about the screen, but now I'm curious – what minor features in products have you gone looking for? How have you found them, if you did?

(And do you know any monitors with turn-off-able status LEDs?)
