I've recently discovered that a surprising number of people think that the reason the age of sexual majority is below 18 in most U.S. states is solely for same-age relationships below 18, rather than also being for mutually consensual age-gapped relationships
I think such people are getting confused between the concept of "age of consent" and the exclusion granted by "Romeo & Juliet" laws
Just a topic I see come up on Reddit a lot (people seem obsessed with it)โwhere some simple Google searching very quickly clears up a lot of really rampant confusion on the subject
