My grandparents owned a grocery store/deli, so I worked there from the time I was 8 (seriously, they paid me $1.50/hr to clean shelves) until they closed it when I was 16.
Then I worked for a candy shop in a tourist town. I got free candy while on shift & talk to people from all over the world, which was amazing.
I worked at a dirt plant. Literally...it was one of those places for landscaping, where you could come and get different soils and landscape rocks/gravel/boulders.
It still beat the heck out of the family poultry farm...
