Rational thinking in United states government, would a new party be a good choice?

It seems that a lot of officials in Washington, DC, are idiots, so I was thinking of how to make requirements for a new party that would make sense. I was thinking of calling it "The Vulcan Party" since Vulcans in Star Trek are the most rational (not sure if copyright laws prevent that use or not). This party requires the elected officials to have good mental health, non-religious viewpoints, critical thinking/reasoning skills, and good ethical views. Would such a party be able to be made under US law, and would it be an attractive group for Reddit to support?
