As a black man, I don't understand why white people constantly like to inform me of what "Black" is. Anyone else constantly perplexed by this?
Post Body

As a black guy in the south, there's this odd stigma that since I'm black, I must act like a thug or someone from BET. Anything outside of the generic black stereotype means I'm trying to be "white". Often times, if I show any degree of intellect, white people will tell me that I'm not "black" enough and seem to use stereotypes as a guideline on what a black person should be like. It's very prevalent in middle school and high schools, but is just blatantly racist in adulthood.

Side note: I do live in the south of 'Murrica where this sort of thing is significantly more common than you'd think. This sort of thing may not apply up north and well, in other countries.
