“Summer programs” and young artist programs in general are a scam of the highest order in the classical voice community. They prey on the young and only those who can afford spend 7k on a program every summer have a chance to connect with influential directors/patrons that you need to get to the next step.

I worked at a bookstore a decade ago. I would deliberately bend books that I wanted so I could throw them into the DOA collection. I would take the books home at* no cost.
