Why do you think women hold more degrees than men in the USA?
Comments

I guess men are more likely to go into jobs that don't require a degree (trades/manufacturing sector/military). Also women might feel they need superior educational quals than men competing for the same job, or just to earn the same respect generally, just to overcome any gender biases, although I think that would be a negligible factor. I'd imagine it is mainly just the fact young girls > young boys at academics in their formative schooling years.
