So, at 29 I finally found a psychiatrist, and 5 months ago I started Lexapro (for lifelong Anxiety and Depression), and Adderal for ADHD.
About 2 months in, I really felt better than I had in so long. Not anxious, not depressed. Went through major life events and felt ok, adjusted, positive about the future. Everything felt at the right dose, though I wasn't feeling necessarily happy.
We moved to 15. And I still felt good, just a bit more anxious in the first two weeks. I told my psych I had one unusual day where my sleep was really bad, and I was very irritable and snapped on random unhoused guy yelling at me in the street. Just yelled back; and immediately left, telling my psych it felt strange.
She immediately wants me down to 10mg, and added a mood stabilizer, and started talking about Bipolar I and hypomania.
The thing is, I've been doing so good for months. Not manic, not "god like" just really adjusted and positive and relaxed.
Now back at 10, starting a mood stabilizer, I feel worse than I have in 5 months. Anxious, irritable, low and negative.
Is this normal? Is my doctor doing the right thing? Or is it a major over correction because I over explained to her a bad day?
Just need some help for this cocktail I'm on.
Also, she doesn't think I am bipolar, but is being cautious of hypomania, and “having too much dopamine”.
