Patient Communication
Post Body

To those of you whose patients are able to send non-urgent medical questions via patient portals, do you like having this option for patients?

Do you feel like you have enough time in your day to message back or do you prefer for patients to wait until their next appointment with you?

I have always had a great experience with this before, but I’ve been having difficulty using this with my psychiatrist. He’s by far been the best doctor I have had and always tells me that I can reach him through the message platform, but I have noticed that if I don’t hear back within a couple of days, I won’t hear back at all.

I am wondering if this form of communication is inconvenient or more difficult in the field of psychiatry?
