Hello everyone, my brother is 30 years old and in 2018 he was very manic and had to be put in a psych hospital for treatment. That’s when he was diagnosed with bipolar 1. After that there was a series of behavioral issues that caused legal issues and he had to plead insanity. He was granted that and 2 years probation where he was required to take treatment. Well that is over and he is… really bad. He is constantly hallucinating things and is sending crazy messages to people and makes claims that aren’t real or logical. His estranged friend reached out to me recently to ask if he was okay and what was going on we realized that back in 2018 they became estranged because of this behavior. No one knew that he was sick (from that life, who now know) If we tell him to go to the doctor he tells us we are crazy. He won’t take any meds the doctor prescribes except for a mood stabilizer that he breaks in 2. He taped the doors at night and paces back and forth because he’s so paranoid. My poor mom and brother live with him and it’s so hard. We don’t know what to do to get him to seek help.
Does anyone have any suggestions? We are in the US
