Would it be appropriate to ask my psychiatrist for book recommendations?

I love to read, and I would love to know if there any books he’d recommend to help with my mental health. I’d like to get your input! I had asked my therapist the same question, but I’d like to see what he may recommend. My next appointment with him is in a week and a half. Would that be an appropriate question to ask?
