F06.2, organic delusional (schizophrenia-like) disorder. Few questions

Hello! I have cortical and subcortical atrophy. My psychiatrist diagnosed me with F06.2 during my stay at the mental hospital. My psychological tests shown that I have memory problems, psychomotory issues and disorganized thought.

But! My neurologist said that my brain atrophy didn't affect my mental state.

I don't know who is right. I am very lost and I have lots of questions. How is my disorder different from schizophrenia? How can I help reduce effects of my atrophy? Does my brain damage really affect my mental health or not?

The meds I used to take are olanzapine and risperidone. I also took aripiprazol, but it was uneffective for my psychotic symptoms. I'm 30. I'd really appreciate your help.
