Iâm not sure if these types of posts are welcomed or allowed here, but I guess weâll see. Iâve already seen a specialist (four different ones actually) without much success.
I was hoping someone in this community could help me make sense of whatâs going on. About eight months ago, I had a very unpleasant high (purchased legally in the Netherlands, so I know it wasnât laced with anything else). During the experience, I had a distressing conversation that triggered a state of panic lasting several hours. While in that state, I had one poorly formed visual hallucinationâthough Iâm not even sure I truly saw something, I definitely felt like I did. It lasted only a few seconds and involved a vision of âGod.â I also thought I heard my friendâs laughter out of nowhere.
As the high wore off, the panic subsided, and I had no lingering issues. I decided to stop using for a while and felt completely fine. However, about four months later, I smoked againâfar more than I should have, especially given my low tolerance. This triggered another intense panic episode, during which I experienced both open and closed-eye hallucinations. I vividly saw a snowflake pattern on my window that looked completely real (though I knew it wasnât). I also experienced âpsychedelicâ closed-eye visuals.
After going to bed, I woke up in a state of depersonalization that has persisted for the past four monthsâthough it has weakened somewhat over time. Over this period, Iâve also developed additional symptoms such as visual snow, floaters, and blue field entoptic phenomenon (BFEP), all of which align with symptoms commonly seen in hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD) or visual snow syndrome.
Iâd really appreciate any insights from those with relevant knowledge. How should I interpret these experiences? Could this be considered a drug-induced psychosis or something else? Thanks a lot for reading all this)
