Hello,
This post is inspired by a comment in r/sweden, in a thread discussing ADHD. The comment roughly stated that anybody, no matter actual ADHD or not, will gain better concentration etc. through using amphetamine, and that this is basically the business idea for private health providers diagnosing ADHD: you pay a hefty sum to get access to legal high quality amphetamine to use in your work as a banker or what not.
Is this true? Amphetamine use without prescription is illegal most countries, which I assume is due to good reasons. But how bad is amphetamine actually, and how good is it? Would it make sense to make it legal, or is it good that it is banned? Should it be given out more freely from doctors instead of ADHD diagnosis, to see how well a person respond to it?
I searched around and found this this thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/Psychiatry/comments/1h1i2ez/whats\_the\_harm\_in\_more\_widespread\_use\_of/) in r/psychiatry, and from what I gathered amphetamine does not seem all that bad for a normal person.
Thanks!
