Quetiapine and diabetes risk?
Post Body

I was recently put on 25mg quetiapine for sleep and mood disorder. Iโ€™m also on 150 mg bupropion. 5โ€™10โ€ 255 lb

Iโ€™m seeing that quetiapine is linked to metabolic syndrome and diabetes. Iโ€™m also seeing that increased appetite is a common side effect of this drug.

Iโ€™m concerned because I am prediabetic - I am obese but have lost 30 lbs and dropped my a1c from 6.1 to 5.7 in the last three months by changing my diet and exercising. I donโ€™t want to backtrack on this progress.

My question is - is there an increased risk of diabetes BECAUSE it makes people over eat? If I stick to my diet will this circumvent the risk? Or is the risk caused by something else?

Thank you!
