Effect of Pregnancy on SSRI efficacy
Post Body

I take 10 mg of fluoxetine daily and have for almost two years (yes I know this is a low dose). Currently I am 17 weeks pregnant and emotionally/psychologically I feel fine (pregnancy is stressful because I have had quite a lot of miscarriages but I think I am coping well). But I am wondering if being pregnant can like, I don’t know the scientific words for this, but decrease fluoxetine levels in my body? I ask because I am having some symptoms I associate with SSRI withdrawal, like eye twitching, sweats (yes also pregnancy-related), etc. All this stuff is most likely associated with pregnancy and unrelated to meds, but I’m just curious. I have more blood, I weigh a bit more, I pee more, my metabolism is apparently faster… does it affect fluoxetine efficacy?
