anxious-depressive attack (ada)
Post Body

40, f. I've been diagnosed with PD, GAD and depression.

Lately I've been experiencing sudden intense feeling of anxiety and sadness/depression.

I've had many panic attacks in my life and this is different. I am anxious but the feeling of sadness and hopelessness is far more prominent. Intrusive thoughts spiral.

I believe its called Anxious-depressive attack (ada).

I am 2 months in on prozac and felt good up until 9 days ago when these depressive attacks started.

Has anyone ever heard of this? If so, aren't antidepressants supposed to help and not make it worse?

Is there a different treatment that would be more beneficial?

I will also say that Ativan is getting me through the worst of the attacks. It doesn't help the sadness but it definitely helps calm the nerves and slow down the intrusive thoughts.
