First off thank you to anyone who replies. A little bit about myself, i take cymbalta, lamictal, wellbutrin, and trazodone for sleep. These drugs have changed my life. I used to spend 2-4 hours a day obsessing online over OCD themes, now it's 2-4 hours a week. I also used to swing to deep depression that would get intense, with one time having to get Baker Acted. I no longer get these swings at all.
RFK Jr has criticized SSRIs and benzos, linking them to school shootings (I know mine is an SNRI, but it will surely also be lumped in). He will likely get confirmed, and be in charge of the FDA. I honestly don't know what I'll do if he gets these meds banned. I know wellbutrin and lamictal are different drugs, but i credit the cymbalta for essentially wiping out my OCD, going from a disability to a minor inconvenience.
Would our system really let the tens of millions of Americans who need these meds be forced off them? What would the point of going inpatient even be without med adjustments? I'm really freaking out, seriously considering moving to Canada as I have a job that would allow me to immigrate fairly easily, but I'd rather not leave my family. Are we screwed beyond belief, or is there hope, in your professional opinions?
