How to test for cognitive decline after recovering from manic episodes?
Post Body
Hi All, I am a veteran with bipolar type 1. I suffered from a pretty bad (8-10 months) manic episode and was in and out of psychiatric hospitals for the most of 2023 thru 2024. This one is fairing much longer to recover from, likely due to being older now (32 vs 28 when the last bad one happened).
Are there ways I can test for cognitive decline or test for recovery of mental abilities after a manic episode like this? I have read that manic episodes can cause brain damage and the like.
