Taking stimulant medication for ADHD has drastically improved my life. It replaced years of ineffective antidepressant and Benzo prescriptions, my house is finally clean, I'm not considered extremely annoying by everyone at my workplace - the list goes on. I have no side effects. I don't feel high when I take it - I feel calmer, more alert but still to take naps and such.
Supposedly I'm on a fairly high dose though, and I know I don't have a "typical" presentation of ADHD. I mean, no one has ever questioned it after more than twenty minutes in a room with me but I did get excellent grades, I love to read, and my hyperactivity is definitely within a socially acceptable context.
So how do I know if my Rx is a legitimate, responsible prescription?
