I was just curious how often psychiatrists consider Toxoplasmosis as a possible cause for behavioral change, to the point where you're actually ordering tests? My soon-to-be-ex sister-in-law recently had a very sharp personality change accompanied by pretty erratic and aggressive behavior. I know it could be any number of things, but one detail that has stuck out to me is her fixation on their cat throughout all this. This feels like very out-there armchair psychiatry, but are personality changes from toxo just anecdotal and very rare, or is this something that actual psychiatrists consider as a differential? Thanks!
