In the subject of sensory perception are ‘misperceptions’ acknowledged as an experience that is distinct to the experience of illusion or hallucination?
I’ve been interested in the subject of hallucinations, illusions, perceptions and misperceptions for a while now, but I have found it exceedingly hard to find information and sources that acknowledge the existence of misperceptions as something distinct from hallucination, illusion or normal perception.
Also, within the fields of psychology and psychiatry do academics take seriously the predictive processing theory of perception? (For example the views expressed by Anil Seth).
