Tapering off Citalopram 15 mg
Post Body

Hi, Iā€™ve been on this dose for a few days, beforehand I was on 10 mg for about three months. I want to taper off it but Iā€™m having trouble deciding how to go about it.

One reason is that before starting citalopram I was already on a different SSRI and I directly switched to Citalopram. I canā€™t remember the name of the last ssri now. Before that I was on a different ssri and before that a different one ā€¦ I havenā€™t tapered off for a few years now, I keep switching. I have been on almost every ssri and a couple of snriā€™s

Does that mean if I start the process of tapering off Citalopram, Iā€™m actually tapering off the other ssriā€™s too?

If yes, it makes the correct tapering method more difficult and will likely need to be a slower method but I donā€™t know.

I know of the hyperbolic taper method but there are different speeds of going about it and I donā€™t know how to decide.

My GP doesnā€™t know about hyperbolic tapering so I canā€™t ask them. How am I supposed to decide exactly how to go about this in my case. Iā€™m not asking for general tips about tapering, I need some more precise instruction about how I should do it and how long it should take, if thatā€™s doable. Iā€™m very stressed.
