Tips for teaching introductory programming to elementary school kids?
Post Body

First of all, sorry if I am posting this in the wrong sub reddit.

Anyways, I am currently in high school, and learned Java thanks to the very intense curriculum. This summer, I have been able to do a intro to Android development bootcamp. After 1.5 years of programming, I have been able to learn 5 languages and am at a level where I think I can teach others.

I want to offer a free class to kids at my elementary school (who are generally underprivileged) to give them an intro to programming. I understand I am not at a teacher level, and it will be very hard to teach them languages such as Java immediately, but I plan on introducing them to HTML and working from there. Do you guys/gals think that elementary school (4-6th grade) is too early? Any advice will be appreciated! Thanks
