Are undergrads in REUs expected to come up with original ideas/designs etc.?
Post Body
Hi, so I am feeling kinda down in the dumps since as part of a REU project I am supposed to design a circuit for a particular task. However, all I seem to be able to do and have done in my previous projects as well is look for the most suitable paper with that circuit and implement them. I cannot for the life of me come up with original/ novel ideas or even any improvements. How screwed am I, specially as a research aspirant in STEM?
