Just sent my professor a thank you email. Is it weird and/or professional?
Post Body

I just recently sent an email to my professor saying thank you for giving me an extension on homework not once but twice and I just checked it and it's much shorter than the previous assignment. I had requested it due to COVID and another unrelated medical issue which had caused me to put off this one assignment as I just got backed up. I am a freshman and not too sure of etiquette and just a little worried about if this was professional or not. I hope I am worrying over nothing but it would be nice to hear I am in the clear since they most likely won't be responding until the next day due to their emailing times.
