Does a poorly scanned LOR give off a bad impression and affect my chances?
Post Body

I don't know if this is the right place for this but I guess I will give it a shot. Okay so I am from a remote college in a third world country and my professors really don't seem to care about stuff like recommendation letters. I am not being offensive or anything but it's the truth. Most students don't go for grad school abroad or research internships and most prefer to join the industries around the area. And the few that do choose to go have to struggle a lot, especially this year with everything being done remotely. So not only do I have to write drafts of my own letters, I can't even get them to scan it properly. Again, I know this is extremely unethical and even illegal, but that's how it goes on here since most professors aren't proficient in English and ask us to write the letters ourselves. But the problem is, they don't even scan it properly and I receive blurry or blackish letters and I don't know what to do about it. This one letter I received a day before the deadline despite sending him a draft 2 months before time and weekly reminders, has some words pushed together and I don't know what to do about it. I don't think I can ask him again. This is extremely frustrating. I have worked so hard to build a good profile for myself, working on independent research and securing good grades. I have to do everything myself, with little to no support from my college. And it's been extra hard this year, with so little communication. What do I do? Will a poor looking letter affect the credibility of my application?
