How would professor respond if a student bringing their own funds requested to do a PhD with them?

Post Body

I am a prospective PhD student who has not been fortunate enough to secure a funded PhD position (I was just rejected by one recently despite being shortlisted). However, I feel very privileged to be in a position where I have funds for my own PhD.

If I contacted a professor mentioning this, how would they respond? How about after I was rejected from a PhD application? Is there any benefit to mentioning it at the beginning or later in a PhD application after the results?

Edit: I am thinking about Denmark.
