There is a professor in my department who is known as "that professor". He is widely understood to have trouble staying on topic in lectures, getting frustrated with students who ask question, and students in his course mostly teach themselves or the GSI's sholdering much of the burden, but his rate my professor page is glowing, 96% highest rating, tons of great reviews with a scattering of reviews of what people who take his courses normally say. I have literally never met anyone in person who thinks he is a good teacher. Are professors out here writing their own reviews?
