.. what if we were wrong about the speed of light?

I mean what makes us sure light does not travel differently outside the heliosphere? our measurements of the speed of light would be bias to a solar environment wouldnt it? And does light interfere with light? If light was traveling through a cosmic void would it accelerate with no gravitational and less light interference?
