What is meant when physicists say that the Universe may be infinite?
Post Body

Is infinite meant in a literal sense, in that if one could magically teleport instantly to any cubic meter within the Universe, and they could do this an arbitrarily large number of times per second, there is no limit to how many unique locations they could teleport to?

Or is it meant in a practical sense, in that since the Universe is expanding faster than C there will always be more than one can reach under the laws of physics?

Or is it just in a mathematical sense, in that an infinite Universe best fits our models and observations, even though infinite space and matter doesnโ€™t really comport with reality?
