Question about energy level transitions
Post Body

https://www.physics.nist.gov/PhysRefData/Handbook/Tables/magnesiumtable5.htm

In a neutral Magnesium atom, you can have three transitions from the singlet 3S_1 level to the 3P triplet (3P_2, 3P_1, 3P_0).

1) Without checking the NIST page, how would I know in general which levels are higher in energy than other levels? 2) How do I know which transition has the greater Einstein A coefficient?
