Best cloud-based photo organizational tool?

Hi friends!

I’m definitely a noob when it comes to photography but I’m definitely a very organized person. Across the years I’ve amassed a LARGE amount of photos ranging back to when my mom had a small digital camera. Similarly, I’ve been storing photos from my phone & cannonn DSLR for quite some years now. Currently, these photos live in folders & subfolders in my computer which I don’t love since they’re always at risk of being deleted. I want to transition to a cloud-based solution but none of the ones that I’ve scoped seem to satisfy what I’m looking for :(

I wanted to understand what the pros are using. What's the system that you folks have in place for photo organization? It seems like the available products aren’t really that good. I have storage in Google Photos BUT they don’t allow for sub-folder/albums which will take me AGES to re-order my library. Lightroom also seems like a nice option but the pricing is kind of steep.

The ideal product for me would have:

  • Folder / Albums and sub
  • Ability to upload photos easily both from an iPhone and a camera (via a regular SD card) <-- this is an insane ATM if you go rom iPhone to Windows. Especially if you’re dealing with a lot of photos
  • Cloud storage!
  • Wish-list to the tech-gods: tag based organization system: i.e. each photo would have several tags; people in the photo (AI powered?), what’s in the photo (landscape, city, group of people, etc.) location, date, etc. The idea would be to easily organize, share and query photos from any platform! These tags could also be auto-aplied, similar to what Google Photo and iCloud already do natively in iPhone & Android.

What are your thoughts? What are you folks using?
