Hi
I want to start to say that I've always had an interest in Photography and perhaps the fantasy of becoming a Pro one day but never really had the money to buy a "Real camera"
Someone I know has lend me one of her old DSLR's, a Nikon D3100 with the kit lens (She never bought another lens for this camera since it was her first) I've been using it and I'm hooked and was thinking about buying a better lens for the camera but since it's not really mine that would be kind of pointless.
I've read a lot and apparently you want to spend your money in glass but to do this I need to buy my own camera and was tinkering with the idea of going full frame with a used Canon 5D Mark III and a basic 50mm 1.8 lens to start, then put whatever money I can on good glass and upgrade the body whenever I can afford it.
Is this a good Idea? Would I be missing much by deciding on a camera that's almost 10 years old, or is there any newer and better option, Will for example a more modern entry level or prosumer body give me better results and also be full frame to allow me to build a collection of nice full frame lenses?
At the moment I mostly shoot portraits of friends and family, Landscapes and street photography, I don't really need video for the time being if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance for any input.
