Free webcam recording tool for windows?`

Hi, not sure if this is the place to ask, but wanted to know are there any programs out there which works well for working with recording webcam video for free. I've tried bandicam and it kinda sucks in video recording, the audio is not lined up with the video.. tried clipchimp or something like that but it needs to be paid to record 1080p video.. I've got my dslr hooked up with my computer as a webcam so I'll be recording high def videos.. any suggestions?
