i need some tips

Hi, I’m a beginner photographer and I just wanted to ask for some tips to take better photos? I don’t have software like Lightroom that I can use to edit my photos and I don’t really like the way photoshop’s camera raw filter affects photos. I know the basic stuff like ISO, shutter speed, aperture and stuff. I like to take photos at night so I’m buying an F1.8 lens but I just wanted to ask for any tips that I could use.
