Sigma 17-50 on Canon EOS 600D: Long exposure night shots with terrible lens flares.
Post Body

Hey all!

I bought this lens (Sigma 17-50 f/2.8) some months ago, and I've been using it for "test runs" mostly on street photography. Lately, I've brough it with me for some long exposure, night shots, and found that most of the time I let te shutter be open for more than a second, lens flares pop ups everywhere on the shot. Take a look at this example, with a litter overexposed through raw therapee shot:

I know that this kind of lens, as it has more components inside, is more prone to lens flares than, let's say, a 50mm prime lens. But the amount of flare in this shots feels like too much. And it was shot at 23mm.

So, I'm wondering: Is this normal for this lens? There's something I could do to get these shots straight? (i.e. a different hood) Is just that the lens is not good for this kind of shots?

Thanks!
