I volunteered to be a photographer for a charity walk a couple months ago. A local restaurant (fast food chain) franchise (not the national organization) was there with a small volunteer group. Now they are sponsoring a different event to honor local high school athletes. A local advertising/media production company contacted me about using my photos for a short video that would be shown at the event. The event does sell tickets but they aren't available yet so I don't know how much the price per ticket will be.
I'd be happy with them using the photos but I'm wondering what type of compensation is reasonable to ask for in this type of situation? Is there a different, better option? I am fairly new to the industry so I'm still not sure how to go about pricing for these types of things.
tl;dr: Advertising company wants to use my photos for a short video to be shown at only one event that they are producing for a local restaurant that is sponsoring that event.
