Balance photography and enjoyment of vacation ?

Post Body

Hello folks! I have recently gotten into simple photography and enjoy it very much. Even tho I kinda suck at it.

My wife and I went on vacation a few weeks ago and of course I brought my camera and took about 300 photos.

Is there a way to balance my enjoyment of taking photos with just enjoying the moment with my wife? Does anyone else experience this?

Should I just leave my camera at the hotel sometimes and not worry about taking photos ? I feel like if I did this there would be so many moments walking around when I thought โ€œdamn I wish I had my camera โ€œ.

I dunno maybe Iโ€™m just overthinking it.
