Best portrait style, lens and lights combination?

As you might know there are so many variations in shooting portraits. I would like to show some samples, all taken with different photographers.

Personally I really like the one with the red background, not because of the colour but because of the style, perspective frame, light and detail. In comparison the other portraits with the blue background look less detailed, and too sharp on the eye.
I would like to hear your opinions.
