A beginner camera that sells fast ?

Coming from an iPhone, I’ll be buying a canon 5d mark 2 soon.
Goal is to upgrade/ get a more expensive camera only when I feel limited, or want to do more.
Example: 14 pro -> 5d mark II -> … -> Sony A7iii (my dream cam).
I don’t think that the 5d mark II has anything special that’ll make easier to sell when I’m done with it.
What beginner cam, would have all the pro features, cost about 600$ CAD and is sought after ?
