Hey all, I've bought a new R6 mkii direct from canon, along with the standard adapter. The lens I usually and used to use on the 6D mkii is the first iteration of the 24-105l that I've had for a while. On the 6D it needs the micro focus adjusting to 5 (to move the focus back) for both wide and Tele.
I didn't think this would be an issue with the R6 mkii diebtonit focussing on the sensor, but it definitely is, I've done extensive testing. The camera appears to be fine with other EF lenses.
If I focus on a subject the focal plane is noticibly in front of it, the effect is worse the farther away a subject is. I use spot focus, with a centre focus point. If I focus through the viewfinder and zoom in to x10 I can see the focal plane in front of where it should be just by moving my view around. (It is just as present in images viewed on my laptop). So this proves it's not shutter shake or anything like that, and the fact I can see it's in focus proves that it's not just a soft focus issue. It's just focussing feet in front of where it should be. This happens at a range of shutter/aperture/iso settings as well (although less noticeable at narrow apertures obviously).
If mirrorless had micro focus adjustments I know it would be resolved, the symptoms are exactly the same as front focus on a DSLR.
I've also done testing in manual focus mode and can achieve sharp focus on the point I want to focus, as soon as I engage autofocus it moves slightly, I can see this in the viewfinder. If I turn on the focus guide for manual and focus it, the guide is showing as slightly out of focus.
Any help would be appreciated.
