It's past time I get a laptop for photo editing but I'm horrible at specs. What's been your best PC laptop for editing and what are the must-haves to consider when purchasing?

I'm a writer and photographer and my current laptop can't handle photo editing and for sure can't handle video. I process TONS of raw NEF files but have to go to the office for the editing. What laptop should I get? Photos are the main concern but if I can get decent video processing I'll take it.
I don't want a Mac, so that's one thing. What should I be looking for specifically? If you have a specific model you'd recommend to keep it simple, that'd be awesome.
