Hello everyone! I’m hoping somebody could lead me to the right path.
For context, I (31 M living in the Philippines) have always loved food and trying out different restaurants when and where I can and taking nice pictures of food using my phone (never owned an actual camera. some photos in my profile if you wanna check) and posting them on social media.
I also try to run a seasonal side biz (baked goods) when I have time and I’ve been thinking about hiring a food photographer to take pictures of the products I sell.
After a lot of thinking, I realized I could become my own food photographer but I’m not sure, at my age, if I should be one. Additionally, I also take care of the whole family so I was thinking it could also be a source of income should I pursue this path.
For all the pro photographers out there, what are your thoughts around:
- pursuing this path potentially as a freelance career at my age
- considering I haven’t owned an actual camera, where do you recommend I start (online programs that offer basic knowledge about cameras and its functions)
- knowing i want to pursue food photography, which online course/resource is the best to avail?
I’m not sure if all those information are enough for an answer but please feel free to comment or DM if you have additional questions.
Thank you so much for your time and thoughts!
