I have the option to purchase a Samyang / Walimex Pro 35mm 1.4f for roughly 140ā‚¬. I currently use a Canon 35mm 2.0f on an 5DMKII. The main drawback I find is the low-light performance, which I think could be addressed by using the 1.4f.

I often take photos in low-light situations (such as partys) where the AF is useless anyway, so Iā€˜m used to pulling manual focus.

Just as a hobby, nothing professional. Would that upgrade / sidegrade make sense or would the differences in exposure be too small to justify getting a different lens with the same focal length that I already own?

Thanks!
