i’m a birth photographer and i received an inquiry from a well known TV personality couple that live in my city. in her inquiry she said “totally fine if it is not of interest but I like to ask in case there is an opportunity. My partner and I both have large social media followings, IG: redacted , and I’d love to collab on services on your terms if you’re open to it. Thank you!” i’m personally a fan of the couple and i would absolutely looove to shoot her birth. i can definitely financially afford to do a birth “for free” and honestly based on their reach/demographic/location i think it could be really huge for my business.
i have a few questions—
1) has anyone done an arrangement like this with an influencer/celebrity? was it worth it? pros, cons?
2) what does the clause in your contract say about payment/trade?
3) what do you think she mean by “on your terms?” — in my mind i’m thinking of something like she posts about working with me before she gives birth, makes a post after, and then allow me to share some images (selected by her)….?
4) should i ask for payment too or assume this is a total trade?
this is a unique situation since it’s a birth so just keep that in mind but i would still like to hear from people who have done non-birth collabs as well!
thanks in advance!
