Hey folks, thanks for taking a moment to read!
I recently photographed a concert and noticed everything shot on my Nikkor AF f/1.4 50mm came out very soft and hazy. Here's some examples (the first shot of each is converted right to JPG from Lightroom, the second is my attempt to salvage it).
Both shots were taken on my Nikon D7500, ISO at 1600, and shutter speed at 1/800 (I'm aware this is an FX lens on a DX body!).
My experience with this lens is limited, as I tend to only use it when I have the maneuverability at a show to frame a shot where I want it, but this is the first time the results were this soft.
Am I doing something wrong (user error) or does it look like there's something wrong with the lens? I know I'm working with a really narrow depth of field here, shooting wide open at f/1.4, but the overall softness of the images is not at all what I'm used to.
Thankfully everything I shot using my other lenses came out just fine and exactly as expected...! I appreciate any insight and advice!
