Post Body

I do some product photography that sort of pays some money but i'd say i'm more an amateur/ prosumer. I take "product" photography of cannabis which includes closeups and some real close macros (5x w/ stacking sometimes), i have a modest light setup that i use probably not totally correctly but it works... self taught 100%. mostly handheld, sometimes with a monopod or tripod (defintiely tripod on super close macros & stacking)

I also shoot a lot of my children and I enjoy landscape and non cannabis macro photography. I use my phone too much but when i travel i use my dslr mostly.

anyway, thats my style of shooting. I have a 5ds and my main/walk around lens is a canon 24-105 f4 ism L. My 5ds has seen its use and has seen better days. i'm a bit rough on my equipment truth be told. I try to buy used to save a few bucks.

I'd like to upgrade my body at some point but not if it means my current lenses are worthless. A lighter/smaller camera sounds nice, better/easier focusing would be nice, wifi/bluetooth would be ok to have, less moving parts for sand etc would be nice...

not sure if going mirrorless would be worht it or not for me? any recommendations for a body to look for in the used market? i'd never consider spending over $2k. closer to $1-1500 would be more ideal.
