So this September 29th, I'll be turning 21. I live in Atlanta and am a huge Braves fan (sorry phillies fans, please don't hate). Every year I go to a Braves game on my birthday, but this year, the last Braves game of the season is in Philadelphia. So I'm planning a trip up to watch the game and turn 21. I plan on driving up the 27th and staying outside of the city the night of the 27th and 28th (I imagine it would be much cheaper than staying in the city). The baseball game is on the 28th. So i plan on driving into the city for the game on the 28th, and spending the day in the city. Then I'll go back to the hotel outside the city for the night, and return the next day to spend the day and night on the town, getting a hotel in the town, and driving home the following day. I have a few questions for you fine people.
What are some things I should do or see, near Citizens Bank Park, the day of the game. Keep in mind that I'll still be 20 that day, so bars and such are out. I also won't have too much money, so this day I'll basically just be looking to see some sights, walk around and such.
For the night of the 29th, Ill be looking to get a hotel someplace that I could walk to some bars, or close enough to get a fairly cheap taxi back to the hotel. Any suggestions on where I should stay, or what part of town would be good to do this? I'm a fairly large guy, and I'll be with my friend, who is pretty big too, so I'm not too worried about what part of town I go to. I'm just looking for an area that I can go bar hopping and stay nearby.
Any other tips or ideas for me? Any suggestions or input on how to capitalize on this weekend would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
