When do you let your kids switch from glasses to contacts?
Post Body

I have a 14yo and a 9yo who both went in for an eye exam, and we found they need glasses. Neither are super happy about it, my 14yo kept asking if he needs to wear them all the time (yes, both of them were told full time). They both took a long long time to pick out the perfect pairs, and later when I asked if they were looking forward to getting their glassses and not getting headaches they said not really and my 14yo said he doesn't even really like wearing sunglasses, it will be weird to wear glasses all the time.

The optometrist says he tells his patients to wear glasses for the first 6 months or so and then look at contacts if they want.
